'I have spent years looking at these crazy Thomas records and have reached some conclusions based on analysis of the Thomas records.
Lewis Thomas, son of Owen, was born about 1752 in Frederick County, Virginia.
He died in Washington County, Kentucky in 1833 as his will was probated on October 29, 1833 in Washington County, Kentucky. His will names his four children. They are:
1) Mary "Polly" Thomas who married Philemon B. Waters in Washington County, Kentucky on March 20, 1809.
2) Catherine Thomas whom I have been unable to find a marriage record for and she was unmarried in 1819 when Lewis Thomas gave her 220 acres in Washington County.
3) Owen Davies Thomas who was born on May 7, 1787 in Kentucky and died July 27, 1851 in Marion County, Kentucky. He married Emily Lindsey.
4) Jane "Jennie" Thomas was born abt. 1789 and died in 1855 in Marion County, Kentucky. She married Martin S. Hardin on November 2, 1806 in Washington County, Kentucky and after his death she married Marcus Lindsey in 1818 in Washington County, Kentucky.'"
U.S. Census District 1, Marion County, KY 1850: "Owen D. Thomas, age 63 b. Abt. 1787 Kentucky, not employed owns real estate $5900, wife Emily H., age 56 b. Abt. 1794 Kentucky; two children b. Kentucky, probably working farm under father's supervision: John B. 23, Owen 20."
