The following obit for Harry appeared in the Sept 24, 1987 Journal:
Services were conducted Saturday afternoon from the Melvin T Strider Colonial Home for Harry Lee Nicely, 85, of Middleway, who died last Thursday in Jefferson memorial Hospital. The Rev. Charles Frum officiated; burial was in the Masonic Cemetery in Middleway.
Born August 29, 1902 in Middleway, he was a son of the late Walter and Dena Whittington Nicely. Retired from Creamers Texaco Station in Charles Town, he was previously employed with the Harley Miller and James Nicely construction companies. He was of the Methodist faith.
He is survived by his wife, Kathyrn Pifer Nicely, at the home; a daughter, Yvonne Creamer, Middleway; three grandsons; and two brothers: Lawrence Nicely, Shenandoah Retreat, Va.; and James Nicely, Saltsville, VA.
