On 2 June 1900, James R. and Edith Henderson lived at 114 South 4th St, Beatrice (Gage) NE with their four children Mabel, Grace, Pearl, and Almond. James R. was a sand hauler, and both he and Edith were literate. Edith is listed as born in England and immigrating in her birth year of 1872.
On 20 April 1910, Robert Henderson (40, farmer) and Edith lived in on a rented farm in Barnett Twp. (Custer) NE with their children Mable (18), Grace (15), Perl (12), Harrel (11), Gladis (9), and Lawrence (2). All the children were born in NE except for Lawrence, born in OK; this suggests that this family lived moved to OK sometime between 1901 and 1908, then moved back to NE after 1908. All the children but Lawrence attended school within the year. The whole family was literate. Their neighbors were Edith’s brothers William A. and George Sherbourne and families.
On 4 Feb 1920, Clark (27) and Mable M. (28) Jones were living at home with their son Clark E. (11 mos.) on 5th St, Wilson (Carter) OK. They owned their home and it was mortgaged. Clark is listed as being literate, but Mable is not. (Mable’s parents are also erroneously listed as both being from Nebraska.) Clark was a wage worker as a hardware store clerk.
On 11 April 1930, Clark and Mabele [sic] lived at 612 5th St., Wilson (Carter) OK with their son Clark E. (This calls into question the divorce date of 1926 provided by Clark E. Jones.) They owned their home and had a radio, and all could read and write. Clark E. attended school within the year. Clark and Mabel married when they were 19 and 24 years old, respectively (although this contradicts their 1892 birth years). The census lists them as 35 and 30 years old, respectively (which is backwards relative to their marriage ages). Clark was a hardware clerk.
Lied about her age to get a job as a teacher.
Lived in Wilson OK before Lubbock TX.
Lived in Lubbock when her son Clark Edwin was in college (1935-39); had a dress shop in Lubbock.
On 25 June 1945, Minnie M. H. Jones Williams lived in Kansas City MO.
In the late 1960s, lived at Rte. 1 Box 262, Artesia NM. Moved to Hobbs NM around 1970; used to live at 202 E Yeso Hobbs NM 88240 (from check dated 16 Dec 1975). Had been living there for maybe 5 years.
