"The Methodist Church in Gallatin County was founded by Richard Masterson and Reverend Henry Ogburn. . . . Rev. Ogburn was the first residented Methodist preacher in Gallatin County. He lived near Port William (now Carrollton). He came to Kentucky from Virginia in 1795."
