8864 Worked as a carpenter for Lockheed and a farmer. From the Glendale News-Press in 1945, "The golden wedding day of Mr and Mrs Henry Stolper tomorrow will have the unusual distinction of being a housewarmeing, for they will receive in the afternoon and evening and be hosts at a family dinner in their new home at 1116 Alameda.

"Mr Stolper is a contractor and under his watchful eye the home he and Mrs Stolper have planned together has been built and furnished in time for the anniversary".

Was said to have quarried the stone for the German Lutheran Church foundation along with brother Dan in Salina, KS (corner of Walnut and 12th) in 1885.

8873 Writer Artemus Ward met Walter and Julia while visiting Salt Lake. Ward told about meeting Walter Davis, the telegraph operator, and his young and pretty wife at breakfast. The lady said she came from Kirtland, Ohio. Ward had visited there often and knew it was the first "Mormon" stake ever established. Ward asked her if she knew "a crazy old rascal there of the name of Martin Harris." "I did--he was my father." Her answer made the others at the table laugh.
